"I'm really enjoying my loan spell at Carlisle and to be playing some first team football is just what I need. Even after three appearances I feel much fitter and it's been good to get on the scoresheet a couple of times too. I've been quite surprised by the standard of the Conference as I didn't really know what to expect before I came here, but it has been good so far.

"The game against Halifax wasn't the most attractive and it was disappointing that we didn't hang onto the lead having gone ahead late on. However, we've had a decent start to the season which is pleasing.

"Saturday's 7-0 win was quite strange too, because to find yourselves 5-0 up at half time was good but a little bit wierd too. Hopefully I can continue to do well for the rest of the month here and then we'll see what happens. There is a good set of lads at Carlisle and I'm learning quite a lot I think. I certainly feel that playing here is better than playing reserve team football at Wigan for now and that's as much to do with my fitness as anything else.

"I think the loan spell I had at Northampton last season was really good for me and I'm hoping that this one will work out the same too because I need to learn more and playing first team football is probably the best place to do that."
