Two more signings expected

It is believed that one of the players is former captain Arjan De Zeeuw who has become dis-illusioned with boss Alain Perrin at Portsmouth.

Jewell told the club's official website: "We want to bring two more players in next week on top of the Camara signing and we've already agreed terms with one of those.Hopefully we can get that one done and dusted for Monday.

"I'm not prepared to say who that player is at this stage. The other one is also looking positive, so by the time we come to face Chelsea the squad should be pretty strong."

He also laughed off speculation linking the Duke with West Brom and he expects the striker to sign a long term deal soon. Jewell added: "It's been reported that I approached Brian Robson with a view to swapping Nathan (Ellington) with Earnshaw. I can categorically state that these stories are untrue.

"More talks are planned this week with Nathan and his representatives about the possibility of him signing a new long term contract but even if it doesn't happen he's still got another year to run on his current deal and he's an important part of my plans for this year.

"I don't envisage any players' leaving this football club now before the transfer window shuts at the end of August."
