Ticket Prices to be reviewed

The club have been critised by fans recently after sharp individual ticket rises have been blamed for the sharp fall in attendances.

Although season ticket holders do receive a fantastic deal, those who pay for individual games have seen their prices shoot through the roof for this season.

Consequently, attendances have plummeted and the club has followed along with common sence and supporters pressure with the announcement of a reduction.

Brenda Spencer, Chief Executive, said: "We pride ourselves at this club on listening to our supporters. In the recent 'Fans Survey' of all clubs in the Premiership we were at the top of the league for being accessible for our fans to speak to club officials and voice opinions and concerns.

"We have always been an approachable club and I for one will always campaign for that to remain. We feel this decision is the right one to make for our supporters.

"It shouldn't be forgotten that a lot of the feedback has been positive. We received praise for keeping our season ticket prices the most reasonable in the Premiership."

Wigan Athletic's Attendance Working Group is headed by Chief Executive Brenda Spencer and features Vice Chairman Phillip Williams, Football Secretary Stuart Hayton, Head of Media and Communication Matt McCann and Sales Director Antony Clark.

Hopefully a sweeping reduction will be made as I'm sure the club would prefer a stadium full of supporters paying £20 rather than a half-full stadium with supporters paying £35.
