The club that nobody wanted...

Yes, the crowds are a big improvement, but let's face it, for a club the size of Wigan Athletic, with a team doing as well as they are, we deserve a bit more support from the Wigan public.

8,000 would be a good average crowd if we were still stuck in the second division, but this club is now in the first, and with that extra support that it deserves it would be pushing for the Premiership.

It upsets me that a town so starved of a good football team cannot get behind Wigan and help them.

Their is now a core support of 5/6 thousand who attend every game, the others are just people who are clinging on, turning up for the big games, a bit like the rugby supporters, but less in number.

Clubs like Liverpool and Everton from the Premiership cost twice as much to go and watch, but yet, despite their pathetic displays this season, the kids want to support them.

If 25,000 can crawl out of the woodwork for a friendly with Manchester United, then why can they not support their local team, Wigan Athletic every week, rather than watching Manchester United on the television? I mean, even Bolton can attract 25,000!!

Huckerby has stated that he will not play in front of such pathetic crowds (and lets face it, that is what they are), while Downing has got his chance at Boro' and Ormerod will not want to leave 30,000 supporters behind at St Mary's.

Wigan, your football club needs you, where are you??

p.s. I am not having a go at Latics fans, I am having a go at the lazy arsed Wigan public who cannot be bothered to support this fine football club.
