Taylor: Faces another lenghty injury lay-off
Taylor initially broke the metatarsal boen in his foot against Leeds in the FA Cup in January. His recovery was virtually complete after featuring in two reserve games before last night, and featuring as an unused substitute against Aston Villa on Tuesday.

Wigan manager Paul Jewell was quick to praise his £700,000 signing from Tranmere, and paid tribute to his young defender.

Taylor, 21, is now out for the remainder of the season and faces another long injury lay-off, but Jewell said: "Ryan is an absolutely top lad, a real worker with a fabulous attitude to his game, and i have no doubts in my mind that he will come back stronger and even more determined to succeed. I have seen enough this season to suggest he can have a long career in football and everyone at the club is devastated for him."

"Ryan has worked so hard to come back from a serious injury once and to have this second blow is a real knock-back for the lad. But i know he'll have the desire to boucne back."

Taylor's leg was operated on overnight at a Newcastle hopsital and he has returned hoem today (thursday).

Everyone at Wiganer.net wish Ryan the best of luck and a speedy recovery, and hope to see him in a Latics shirt soon.
