Taylor back in contention

Former Tranmere Rovers player Taylor said: "I feel a lot better but am still not 100 percent but I'd love to play in a couple of games before the end of the season.

"I'd never been injured before and it was a big setback. When you look at the X-rays, my foot looks like a DIY job with screws inside it, but hopefully my injury problems are behind me and I've gained a lot of experience from watching matches.

"This is what the gaffer asked me to do and hopefully it will serve me well for next season.

"I'm in full training, and just hopeing a chance will come my way because things were going really well and it's just a case of keeping going and progressing."

It is thought that this weekend's game with Newcastle will come too soon for Taylor who will not be risked. Although he is pencilled in for a start against Aston Villa on Tuesday.
