Nani may be involved in Valencia deal...but would he come to the DW?

It looks almost inevitable that Valencia will depart this summer and everyone knows that the two of the biggest clubs in world football are in negotiations to sign the Ecuadorian.

Valencia may prefer to move to Old Trafford ahead of Real Madrid to prevent unsettling his family who are settled in the North West of England and with United unwilling to pay a fee of £18m, Nani may be used as part of the deal to secure Valencia's signature. The big question is though, is that would a player like Nani move to Wigan?

The guarantee of first team football could be tempting to the Portuguese winger but he has played in the Champions League at Lisbon and of course at Old Trafford. Nani may see Wigan as a step backwards and may feel he has more to offer the current English Champions but he looks likely to be on the bench for a chunk of next season if Valencia moves.

A good example of a player in Nani's situation is our own Titus Bramble. Bramble has admitted that he took a step backwards when he joined because Newcastle were competing in Europe and looking for trophies, but doesn't time change?

Bramble has been the butt of many people's jokes over the years but after a consistent run in a first team and given a bit of belief, he has become one of the top defenders in the country with many Wigan fans and players wanting an England call-up for the centre half.

If Nani was to join, he could use the club to play consistently and gain a bit of confidence in England. He has the ability and has shown glimpses of that in his time at United with a few of fantastic goals.

It is pure speculation at the moment but it has to be considered, this could be a good deal for both parties and give strength to the midfield. It is now just a case of waiting now to see where Valencia wants to play next season and it will be a shame to lose a player of his quality.
