Mitchell joins MK Dons on loan

Mitchell, 23, has made 85 appearances for the Latics, and is a product of the youth system. He has already spent time at Swindon this season, and was recalled due to a crisis of injuries at the JJB, but had really enjoyed the first team football.

Jewell commented: "Danny Wilson rang me on Wednesday and asked about 'Mitch' and I'm happy to let him go out on loan to the MK Dons. I've a lot of time for 'Mitch' and he's desperate to play first team football and this is a good chance for him.

"We've far more players available now than when I reluctantly brought him back from a previous loan spell at Swindon and therefore I'm comfortable letting him move away from us temporarily. It's only fair to him to let him have this opportunity and I know he's looking forward to it. I hope it goes really well for him."
