Match Preview - Wigan Athletic vs Wolves

Wigan Athletic take on Wolverhampton Wanderers at the DW Stadium on Saturday in a must win game for both sides.

The two teams are at the opposite ends of the Championship table, with Wolves fighting for the play-offs and Latics battling relegation.

Gary Caldwell's men have to win and hope Rotherham United lose at home to automatic promotion chasing Norwich City. This will give Wigan the slightest hope of avoiding the drop to League One.

On the other hand, Kenny Jackett's side currently sit eighth in the table, three points behind Ipswich Town in the final play-off spot.

This makes the meeting between the pair a vital match, a draw simply won't do for either team.

Caldwell has highlighted striker Nouha Dicko as the danger man, he left Wigan to join Wolves back in 2014. A decision that seems to be a mistake on Latics' part, as Dicko is in hot goalscoring form.

In the previous meeting between the two this season, they drew 2-2 at Molyneux. Dave Edwards gave the home side the lead, before goals from James Perch and Marc-Antoine Fortune put Latics' 2-1 up at half time.

An equaliser on the hour mark from Bakary Sako made it honours even back in October.
