Martinez praise for Di Santo

Twenty-two year old Di Santo has been in excellent form for the Latics in the opening games of this season and has won the praise of manager Roberto Martinez.

The Spaniard told the club's official website after the game with Everton: "Franco has been very consistent since we started the campaign, he is hungry for success and his mentality is superb after a full pre-season behind him.

"This season he is ready to fulfil his potential and we all want him to continue enjoying his football.

"Off the ball he worked hard for his team-mates and when he had it at his feet he was a threat - his goal was the reward for his overall performance and he'll continue to get those rewards if his performances remain consistent."

Clearly a player who thrives on action and confidence, Di Santo will be needed more than ever by the Latics following the injury to Hugo Rodallega at Goodison Park.
