Mr Lindsay was appointed to the board of directors just under a month ago in a move that saw two Wigan Athletic directors joined the Wigan Warriors board.
At that time the club commented that Lindsay has been a long term supporter of the football and wants to help take the club forward.
Many fans were incensed with this move and will be more angry with today's revelations.
Full details of the plans have not been released although it is said that Lindsay will receive 100% ownership of the club and full control over its future destination.
The most loyal Wigan Athletic fans will remember Mr Lindsay's comments some years ago about the football team in Wigan, and they will not forget.
He is clearly not a football man and his only interest is in the oval shaped ball. This is a move which does not have Wigan Athletic Football Club's best interests at heart.
