Latics fans furious as tickets lost in the post

Tickets bought for the game were posted out to supporters and many did not arrive leaving fans without tickets for what was a very big game.

Althought the club could not issue duplicate tickets it has done little to pressure TNT to at the very least finacially rectify the situation.

A club statement read: "We cannot issue duplicate tickets because it opens the club to fraud. The club is carrying out a full investigation. It doesn't want to let the fans down. TNT says it is also carrying out its own investigation.

"The club can only apologise and promise the fans that we will be looking into the reasons as to why this has happened.

"The club is currently contacting the supporters to explain the situation but regrets that this happened and really does sympathise, but has done everything possible to avoid this situation occurring."

It is expected that TNT will have to pay significant compensation to both the club and also to fans who missed the game, although TNT are yet to comment.

If you wish to make your feelings known, you can contact TNT here.

The GMP are likely to look into the situation when it has died down and they have managed to work out which is their arse and which is their elbow.

Note: There is no actual proof that TNT staff took the tickets for themselves and no doubt an internal inquiry will prove this.

And if you believe that then you will also still be waiting to hear of the weapons of mass destruction in Iraq...
