Derek Boateng, a midfield player is a former African Young Player of the Year and wants to move to England after his club AIK Solna got relegated in from the Swedish top flight.

Boateng signed for AIK in 2003 after his spending much of his career in Greece plying his trade for OFI Crete, Kalamata and Panathinaikos. He had a trial with Middlesbrough before joining AIK.

"Derek is in England, where two clubs are interested." AIK sports director Peter Kisfaludy told Sportbladet.

American trialist Ricardo Clark, 21, has come over for a week having finished his season with the New York/New Jersey MetroStars in the MLS, the same club from whom Manchester United got Roy Carroll's understudy, Tim Howard.

"Ricardo has come over for a week and we'll have a look at him although he cannot play for our reserves or anything like that. It is probably unlikely that we'd look to sign him but you never know and it is also a really good chance for the kid to come over here, enjoy himself and gain some more experience." commented Jewell.
