Jewell: "We're capable of it"

Last updated : 16 April 2004 By Paul Farrington
"We played well back in November to beat them here but even then you looked at their team sheet and they really did have some decent players. They were in a bit of turmoil back then but Iain's come in a done really well to turn their season around. They must be one of the form teams in the Division and therefore we know it'll be a tough game for us on Saturday.

"They've won three on the bounce I think going into the game and will be full of confidence, but we played very well to beat Cardiff on Tuesday so we're feeling good about things too. With both teams pushing for the play-offs it has all the makings of being a cracker but hopefully we can come out on top.

"We'll be looking to build on the performance we put in against Cardiff when we looked like we were getting back to playing like our old selves.

"We played at a high tempo and pressed the ball well but also got the ball down and played our football. Hopefully we can go to Palace and impose our style on them and then once again play the way we want to. We know it's a difficult place to go and get a result but if we can, and we're certainly capable of it, then that really would put us in a strong position.

"If at the start of the season we'd have been offered our current position we'd have snatched your hand off, but the key thing now that we are where we are, is to finish the job and cement ourselves into a play-off place.

"Injury wise, apart from the longer term absentees, we have a clean bill of health and everyone that featured on Tuesday night came through OK and will travel down to Selhurst Park for the game."
