Jewell takes Manager of the Month award

He beat off competition from Tony Pulis of Stoke and Joe Royle of Ipswich to land the first ever award of the trophy.

A total of four wins and two draws from our opening six games, with twelve goals scored secured the trophy a home on Jewell's desk.

Jewell commented, "It's nice to receive this award but it really is something that recognises the work done by everyone at the club and not specifically by me. We've had a good start but it's still early days we all know that, although it's better to have points on the board now rather than playing catch up.

"I'd like to thank Coca-Cola on behalf of everyone at the club and I would hope that we're in the running for this award again later in the season because that will mean that things will have continued to progress in the right direction as the season itself develops into it's most important stages."
