Jewell reflects on Burnley defeat

Jewell said: "As far as football is concerned I thought we were by far the better team but even though we outplayed Burnley, we didn't get three points. I thought the goal they scored was the only real chance they had in the game, but other than that today, we played well between the two boxes, but we lacked the cutting edge we needed to trouble their 'keeper. For all the possession we had we didn't have enough chances."

"We played well up to the box and their 'keeper hasn't really had too many saves to make, yet possession wise, we dominated the game. We've got to play a lot of games in a short space of time, maybe Burnley had an advantage with thier game called off on Boxing Day, but I thought the lads played but we lacked that killer instinct."

"We changed our system a little bit, we passed the ball well, but we just did not have that cutting edge."

"We haven't picked up any injuries, but Jason Roberts will come back into contention. But it's three defeats on the spin now and out of all the three games, that's as well as we have played for ninety minutes. We played well against Derby for the first half, we didn't perform against Ipswich. Possession wide and football wise we were good, but we were toothless in attack."
