Jewell aims for More Signings

Along with Boyce, Jewell has signed Fitz Hall, Denny Landzaat, Emile Heskey, Tomasz Cywka on permanent deals and Chris Kirkland on loan.

However the loveable Scouser is hoping to name his next recruit within the
Paul Jewell
next couple of days, as well as a further signing before his side kick off the new season away to Newcastle.

"We have made an offer for a player yesterday that we're waiting to hear back from within the next 24 hours."

"Obviously Emmerson has come in and we've made another for a player abroad, so we are just waiting on answers now."

"We need to bring bodies in. Ideally we'd have two players for every position. That's every manager's ideal scenario so that's what we're trying to do."

Although Jewell has not named his targets, one is thought to be right winger Luis Valencia of Villarael. Also, seeing as Jewell claims to want two players for every position, and only has three strikers, it is thought the second player is a striker.

Despite wanting to continue his summer recruitment, Jewell is happy with his new signings: "I'm very pleased with all the new signings."

"With the new signings, the players we already have, and the players we could still bring to the club, hopefully we can have a decent season."
