Jewell told the club's official website: "We are in talks with a player as we speak and he is someone who plays wide left. Hopefully by teh end of the day we will have secured his signature and although we would have liked to have it wrapped up so he could train with us this morning, that was not to be.

"People can probably guess who the player is, but I'm not willing to say publically just yet because we've been kicked in the teeth a few times already this season and I don't want to come out and name him then find it doesn't happen for whatever reason."

So, is it Mahon or McIndoe or someone else?
