Injury Update

Manager Paul Jewell has given the fans an update on the squads injuries. He said: "On the injury front, Jason Jarrett is progressing well and will play 45 minutes for the reserves on Wednesday as he steps up his recovery programme. If he comes through that OK he should be available for first team action in a couple of weeks time which will be a big boost as he gives us another option in midfield. Meanwhile, Emerson Thome is back doing some running now and will hopefully join in fully later in the week after his hamstring strain. However, you have to be very careful with hamstrings and, having already had one setback a couple of weeks ago, we will take every precaution possible to make sure that he doesn't suffer the same injury again.

"Apart from those two players and of course Per Frandsen, most of the squad are fairly healthy although we are glad of another midweek without a game. To be honest, four or five players have got through games of late without being fully fit, but we've been so short of numbers that they've had to give it a go. They deserve great credit for that and also for some of the performances they have put in while they have been struggling a little.

"The injuries we have had have only made me more determined to get people in but I have to say that it has proved more or less impossible so far. We have had targets that haven't come off for a variety of reasons, but as I have always said, I will not then just go out and bring someone in for the sake of it. Fortunately, most of our playing squad are now in far better shape than they have been and that should stand us in good stead as we look forward to the trip to Reading on Saturday."
