Heskey unfazed by goal drought

In 49 appearances Heskey has managed just five goals meaning if he fails to score against Belarus he will have a one goal in ten ratio. He said : "Not scoring does not play on my mind."

"I was trying to get that goal at the end and I couldn't even get anything on it, even my hand. I'm going to carry on and hopefully that will come."

Heskey had two efforts saved late on and set up Jermaine Defo for the final goal on Saturday and England manager Fabio Capello has praised the importance of Heskey in getting the best out of Wayne Rooney.

Capello said of Heskey: "I am very happy with Heskey, he played very well against Croatia. He is a very good forward.

"Can he get the best out of Rooney? Yes and not only Rooney, but all of the team. Sometimes when we have problems, we can play the long ball to Heskey and he can deal with it.

He has good ball control and can help the team go forward."
