Here's to the next 250

It certainly was a hot seat when the popular Scouser arrived at the club. Chairman Dave Whelan was gaining a reputation for sacking managers. However PJ was to change all that.

The club was struggling when Paul Jewell first took over, and player power was rife within the dressing room. This was stamped out with the help of tremendous support from the Chairman.

And despite a shaky start to his Wigan Athletic career - and I admit I had more than my doubts - Mr Jewell has more than won the hearts of this town.

Two promotions and a major Cup Final later and the club are still going strong with a odds on chance of Premiership football at the JJB Stadium next season. This is in no small part to the manager and his attitude and ability.

It is without doubt that all Wigan Athletic fans thank Paul for his service thus far and look forward to even more success in the future under his stewardship.
