McNally was in charge of the Latics from 1983-5 and he also managed Chester City for seven years. He died in hospital after suffering a heart attack on Friday.

McNally never played the game at Football League level, and was one of few who went on the be a manager.

Current boss, Paul Jewell was signed by McNally for Wigan as a player and he said: "I'm shocked and greatly upset at Harry's death. He was an unbelievable character known by everyone and he knew football inside out. He was an outstanding judge of a player and a lot of people have Harry to be thankful for."
