The area of the pitch which caused concern for the ref was a five yard strip down the Gordon Road side of the ground which is frozen and would have been unsafe if the match had gone ahead.

Yes thats right, a five yard strip. Surely Brenda's hair dryer could have sorted that out?

The decision has come as a real shock with the sun in Gillingham being out and temperatures even reaching double figures. 

This is an absolutely terrible decision by the Gills, with upto 400 Latics fans having wasted a day and plenty of money.

A decision should have been made this morning. 

A new date has not yet been agreed, but any tickets will remain valid.
