FA clear Jewell over Dowd comments

Last updated : 11 April 2006 By Paul Farrington
The fiery scouser had to face FA bosses at Soho Square to justify his comments and he has been let off with a warning as to his future conduct.

Jewell is not known for his comments towards refereeing and had even praised them on a radio show earlier in the season. You have to search all the way back to 2003 and comments made towards Paul Robinson after John Filan's sending off a Reading in November.

The LMA also spoke up to support PJ in his answers regarding Dowd's performance. As a result, the news today comes as little suprise to Latics fans, but may well have set a precident as far as other cases are concerned.
