Tomasz Cywka: Joins the other Latics
The Polish under 19 international has yet to play for the Latics in the top flight despite impressing manager Paul Jewell since his move in the summer.

However the gaffer feels that the youngster needs competitive match experience to aid his development.

Jewell told the club's official website: "Tomasz is a very gifted player and has improved every week since he joined us in the summer. However, I don't believe that just playing reserve team football will give him the experience he needs.

"The best way to improve is to play competitively and at Oldham he'll get that chance. League 1 is a tough, no nonsense division and I know that he'll enjoy the experience. Tomasz is technically excellent but he's also very strong and robust, he can definitely look after himself."

Meanwhile, the Manchester Evening News is linking Leighton Baines with a move to Old Trafford. The story comments that United boss Ferguson is a fan of the 21 year old full-back and has tracked his progress since Baines broke into the Wigan first-team.
