Pascal Chimbonda
The 27 year old signed an extension to his Latics deal earlier in the season after settling very well into the Premiership and his surroundings at the JJB.

A number of top European clubs have been linked with Chimbonda who is very tempted by a move to the very top.

Chimbonda has been quoted as saying: "I didn't want to prolong my contract because the buyout clause was low, but the manager promised to let me go at the end of the season if a big offer comes in.

"I keep hearing about interest in me but I have had no direct contact. For now, I will finish the season at Wigan and will be at the start of pre-season training on June 10."

Only time will tell if the Guadaloupe born full-back will still be with Wigan come next season. Manager Paul Jewell sent out a defiant message on earleir this afternoon however.

He said: "There is no verbal agreement between myself and Pascal. No-one has made an approach to my knowledge. There was a buy-out clause in his contract, but we took that out because he had done so well.

"If Barcelona came in for him, it wouldn't be right for us to stand in his way. But they would have to pay the going rate for a quality full-back."
