Caldwell ready to lead against Chelsea

Speaking to the club's official website, Caldwell said: "Over the last few weeks we've played very well and there's been a consistency in our performances which has shown in some of the results.

"We want to continue that by trying to get a result at Chelsea this weekend, a tough place to go but one we believe we can get something from.

"Clubs like Chelsea have a great home tradition and a great history behind them, and that sometimes is the biggest challenge to overcome.

"You have to break that aurora they have on the park before going on to try and win the game, and I'm sure on Saturday we'll have eleven players on the park with the belief that they can do just that."

When asked about the injury sustained at the weekend following a stray elbow from Roman Pavluychenko, Caldwell added: "It's (mouth injury) cleared up a lot after last weekend, the club Doctor had to put some stitches in my lip and it was a bit sore.

"During the week I've had my teeth straightened and there's still a bit of pain but not enough to stop me playing this weekend.

"I've taken a few knocks this season, a good few in the face but it's part and parcel of the game, some players go through a season injury-free and others get a few knocks.

"Throughout my career I've actually been quite lucky to stay away from any kind of serious injury, but they've all come at once this year!"
