Bramble to lose Shambles Tag

Bramble started the season well but after two errors, in particular the poor back pass against Everton, he was dropped by new boss Steve Bruce.

Since then, the impressive displays of Emmerson Boyce and Paul Scharner at the back have left the former Ipswich man on the bench.

However when he gets his chance, Bramble is keen to prove that he has what it takes to cut out the errors.

"Of course I look at David James and what he has done and he is an example of how you can reinvent yourself," he told the Sunday Mirror.

"I could have a very good season next year, but it'll take two or three seasons for the critics to stop. It's personal, that's what I think.

"Everyone makes mistakes. It's just that some people are quick to criticise me more than other players.

"A little mistake is always blown up to a big thing. Everyone makes mistakes, but I always seem to get criticised for mine."
