Baines: Ready for Charlton
The Latics travel to the Valley this weekend sitting just six points clear of Charlton who occupy 18th place, and the final relegation spot.

A moral boosting win for Alan Pardew's men against Newcastle in their last outing will no doubt mean a tough trip for the Latics, although Baines and the rest of the squad know their in for a battle.

He told the club's official website: "We're focusing on just one thing now, going to Charlton and winning. They've hit a bit of form in their last few games so we know they're going to be full of confidence, but then the same can be said about us."

"We're unbeaten in four games and we need to put in another performance like we did at Manchester City, where the team was back to its dogged best and got the result our performance deserved.

"We'll approach the game positively and go for the three points. We know what a massive result this will be if we can win, because Charlton are one of the teams below us and it'll be as much about
keeping that cushion we've got at the moment as us picking up the points."

The 22 year old was also particularly proud to play for England under 21's at the weekend in the first ever game at the new Wembley Stadium. Baines added: "It's always a big honour to put on an England shirt, and it was a pretty special occasion to be involved in the first game at Wembley.

"The stadium is breathtaking, and it was very nice to get to play in it so soon! But now it's all about focusing on what matters the most, getting the three points at Charlton."
