Bullard told the Manchster Evening News: "Coming north has proved a great move. Wigan are on the up and I'm enjoying my football.
"We've a lot going for us as a club. We're in a great position in the Championship and I just want to be part of future success.
"Wigan are ambitious, so am I, and I'd love to look at staying well beyond next year.
"We're in with every chance of promotion and the prospect of playing in the Premiership with Wigan means everything to me. The only thing on my mind is helping take Wigan into the Premiership."
