Sunderland Statistics Preview

• Sunderland held Fulham to a 0-0 draw last weekend for their fourth clean sheet of the season.
• Stephane Sessegnon completed 14 dribbles against Fulham, the third highest total posted by a player in the Barclays Premier League this season
• Ahmed Elmohamady put in 13 crosses during the Fulham game as Sunderland tested the Fulham defence. That’s the most crosses a player has put in in a single Barclays Premier League game so far this season.
• Lee Cattermole put in another season high for the Black Cats, making 24 defensive contributions across tackles, blocks, interceptions and clearances. This was the most of any player in the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index for last week’s games, and second only for the season to Cattermole’s own record of 27 against West Brom.
• Lee Cattermole also covered more ground than any other player for Sunderland v Fulham with 9,878 metres.
• Gary Caldwell, Jordi Gomez and Albert Crusat were all on target in 3-3 draw against Blackburn, with all three scoring their first Barclays Premier League goals of the season.
• Victor Moses must wait another game until his first Barclays Premier League goal of the season. The striker has now had 38 attempts at goal with 66% on target yet somehow has not yet hit the net.
• Fellow striker Hugo Rodallega is also suffering this season, and has had a equally frustrating 25 attempts at target with 68& on target in the league without scoring.
• Maynor Figueroa and Mohamed Diame remain the league’s most prolific tacklers after that game against Blackburn. Figueroa has won 42 tackles so far this season and Diame 37, the two highest in the league.
• David Jones covered the most ground for Wigan in their last game against Blackburn with 11,313 metres, the fourth time he has run further than any Latics player this season. It was also the second highest total by any player in the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index for this game week.
