Alternative Report - Wigan 3 Notts County 1

A Fans Opinion

John Filan 7
Didn't really have too much to do other than Stallard's last gasp consolation goal. Had one very dodgy kick towards the end of the first half. Still the best goalkeeper in division two.

Nicky Eaden 8 A real consistent performer. Has slotted into the team superbly. Looked very sturdy defensively and played some excellent balls down the line.

Peter Kennedy 7 His performances seem to have improved since being moved back to left back. Played a few stray balls today, but on the whole his game was much better.

Jason De Vos 9 Very close to a perfect performance from the Canadian. Outstanding in defence, the Notts forward didn't know what to do! His goal capped off a great game for the skipper.

Matt Jackson 8 Played fewer aimless balls today, a much improved game. Still the solid defender we see every week.

Gary Teale 8 Another good game from the Scot. Good pace down the right side and he seems to be playing with much more confidence now.

Lee McCulloch 8 Great to see him back from injury and a good seventy minutes on the field. Power and agression down the left side. Richard Liburd went off scared.

Tony Dinning 8 Smacks his influence on every game he's playing this season. Opposition midfielders don't know what to do. We saw the same again today. Perhaps could improve on his shooting, but thats just being picky!

Paul Mitchell 8 Jason Jarrett could get some splinters in his buttocks if Paul keeps turning in performances like this. Strong in the tackle, his pressence allows Dinning to roam forward.

Nathan Ellington 8 Strong, athletic, pacey, skilful and honest. Nathan's got a big future ahead of him. Let's hope its with the Latics. He showed all of his qualitiies today and was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet himself.

Andy Liddell 8 Was only good for 75 minutes. His new 'chase most things like Neil Roberts' attitude wore him out and so he was substituted. Otherwise Lids had a good game and scored a great goal.

Substitutes

Neil Roberts 7 It's nice to hear about him being wanted at the club by the management and that he isn't going ot West Brom. He shouldn't have been dropped.

Scott Green 5 Struggled when he came on, and didn't play for long enough.
