Paper Talk: Latics announce Premiership prices

The most expensive adult season ticket in the ground will be £375, while children can watch games for as little as £5 – and free if they are under five.

In the coming season, Latics supporters will be housed in the West, East and South Stands, with away fans moved to the North Stand.

As a result, the popular and ever-growing JJ's Club for younger fans switches ends to the South Stand.

Matches will be categorised into two price bands next season as far as on-the-day admission prices are concerned.

The 'A' band includes Champions League winners Liverpool, Premiership holders Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal.

Latics have conducted a great deal of research into pricing policies in the Premiership, contacting all their fellow clubs to see what they are charging.

An adult season ticket in the West Stand and the middle section of the East Stand will be £375, with discounts for OAPs and students.

In the South Stand and wings of the East Stand, an adult season ticket is £327, again with the OAP and student discounts. Members of JJ's Club will get their season tickets at a vastly reduced rate, Under-16s paying £190, Under-11s £95, while Under-fives go free.

Admission on the day for non-season ticket holders depends on which category the opposition falls into.

For an 'A' grade fixture, it will be £25 for an adult in the West Stand and middle section of the East Stand, while they will pay £20 in those areas for a 'B' grade fixture.

Adult supporters sitting in the South Stand or the wings of the East Stand will be charged £22 for an 'A' fixture and £17 for a 'B' game.

In JJ's Club, pay-on-the-day will be £10 for Under-16s, £5 for Under-11s, and Under-fives again go free.

There will be a £10 membership fee for JJ's, that price including a number of events throughout the season.

Latics' commercial manager John Fillingham said: "We will be offering very competitive prices for our first season in the Premiership.

"We have looked at every club in the top flight to see how they structure their prices and we can confidently say not many will be able to match the offers we are making to our fans.

"The most important factor in our minds was protecting our junior fan base which we have worked hard to establish since moving to the JJB.

"JJ's matchday club is the best of its kind in British sport and I'm delighted it can continue in the Premiership.

"For children in Wigan to be able to watch the finest footballers in the world for just £5 is superb."

Latics will be able to accommodate 5,400 travelling supporters in the North Stand, one of the most generous allocations for visitors in the top flight.
It will be allocated seating, meaning an increase in capacity.

The teams in the 'A' fixture category are Arsenal, Aston Villa, Blackburn, Bolton, Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Newcastle, and West Ham.

Those in the 'B' category are Birmingham, Charlton, Fulham, Middlesbrough, Portsmouth, Sunderland, Tottenham and West Brom.
