Eaden :: Settled in well
The right back is due to play his last game for the club this weekend against Stockport County when his one month loan spell expires.

But Wigan boss Paul Jewell wants to keep the 29-year-old at the JJB Stadium and is hoping to thrash an agreement out.

It is a position he has been desperate to fill ever since he took the job.

The Birmingham City defender has impressed the coaching staff during the five games he has appeared in and admits that he would like to stay.

Eaden told the Observer: "I spoke to the manager after the game on Saturday at Plymouth and he said he wants to sort something out for me this week.

"Whether that is another loan deal or a permanent one I don't know yet so I'll have to wait and see."

Blues boss Steve Bruce saw it as an ideal opportunity for Eaden to get some first team football when Jewell has the initial enquiry a month ago.

The former Wigan manager persuaded him it would be a good move away from St Andrews to try and get his career back on track.

Eaden had not played a competitive game for Birmingham since January.

Ironically it is almost 12 months ago since Jeff Kenna started his loan spell at Latics.

He has now taken Eaden's place at Birmingham after failing to agree peronal terms with Dave Whelan last year.

It's a factor which Eaden hopes won't prevent him from staying.

He said: "If the offer was right I would definately sign it.

"But until I sit down with the manager I don't know what's going to happen.

"I would like to stay here.

"I've enjoyed it so far and settled in well.

"Wigan are a good side who like playing football and it would be nice to be a part of it."
