Zaki and Mido to leave Wigan

As expected, Amr Zaki will return to Egypt at the end of the season and he has played his last game for the club as his hamstring injury will force him to miss the final home game against Portsmouth. Steve Bruce has stated that the club has not taken up the option to sign Zaki where Saied has said that it was Zaki who rejected the club because of wage issues.

Saied told filgol.com ''Four Premier League clubs have made solid bids to land Zaki, they have all offered him higher wages than that he's paid at Wigan."

"Zaki called on Wigan's officials to increase his wage, but they turned him down by saying there is a maximum limit for players' salaries, hence he decided to depart."

Steve Bruce has another story where he says

"The writing has been on the wall for a while now, but it's a shame, it really is," said Bruce.

"There was no doubt Zaki had the world at his feet last October when he scored those two goals against Liverpool at Anfield.

"He had a wonderful chance over here but he was badly advised I think, he listened to the wrong people.

"It's a shame it's worked out this way, he set us on fire with those goals earlier in the season.

Mido's loan will also end at the end of the season which means attacking minded players will be linked with moves to the DW Stadium in the summer with at least 2 strikers expected to make the move to Wigan.
