Wigan's Heskey bid Accepted

A Club statement from Birmingham City said: "Birmingham City Football Club can confirm that they have today accepted an offer of £5.5million from Wigan Athletic Football Club for Emile Heskey."

"Heskey will now have personal talks with the Latics"

Wigan have been chasing the powerful forward for most of the summer, with Jewell seeing Heskey as an ideal replacement for the departed Jason Roberts.

Heskey is expected to travel to Wigan on Friday to begin negotiations.
