Wigan squad delights Martinez

Robinho, Emmanuel Adebayor, Carlos Tevez, Kolo Toure. You would have thought that most managers would love to have those players in their team for others, not Roberto Martinez. The manager has come out and stated that he would never swap his squad for the one that Mark Hughes currently has. A bold statement from the gaffer who will want to make it 3 straight home wins for the club when City visit the DW a week on Sunday, a game which will be televised live on Sky Sports for a second successive year.

Last time round, City only had Robinho as the big name signing from that summer but now the squad is glittered with stars and Martinez is not put off by the spending power of the Eastlands outfit.

"They have one of the best squads in the league in terms of numbers and the quality to be contenders," Martinez told the Daily Star.

"When you go out to buy the best it can go wrong sometimes but when you look at what they've bought recently it almost resembles how you play a computer game.

"But they now have a fantastic squad and Mark Hughes has them playing as a team. Having said that, I wouldn't swap my squad for Man City's, no way.

"In the three months we have been working together we've progressed massively and we believe in our squad."
