Watson set to complete £2 million switch

The 23 year old midfielder has been the subject of intense interest during the January transfer window with Middlesbrough, West Ham, Fulham and Queens Park Rangers also making offers for the player.

Watson is said to be excited about the prospect of replacing Wilson Palacios at the heart of the Wigan midfield.

Middlesbrough were in the box seat, before the Latics late bid. London born Watson, has been offered a three and a half year deal with the club.

In other transfer news, Henri Camara, out of contract in the summer, is being rumoured to be interesting French club Nancy. The 31 year old striker has previously been linked with Hull City and Stoke.

There is also expected to be news on Stephen Hunt today. The Reading midfielder is subject to a £5 million bid from the Latics and is set to discuss terms with the club today.

The Latics are also being linked with a possible bid for England international striker Michael Owen. Aston Villa are said to be another interested party in the former Liverpool frontman.
