Warm welcome back home for Roberts

Roberts told the club's official website: "I have been meeting people and this has made me more determined for next year because I feel the better I do, the more that people understand I'm a Grenadian and the more it lifts up our national game. My aim is to get more Grenadians hopefully to play in the Premier League. We've the talent."

Whilst on the trip the powerhouse striker attended a press conference with the Grenadian Sports Minister Adrian Mitchell who celebrated the achievements of Jason in helping the Latics reach the Premiership.

He said: "You have inspired a lot of our young footballers over the years and I want you to try to help the disadvantaged. We are very proud of your achievements and know that you'll fly the national flag in the Premier League."

Earlier in the year Roberts played an instrumental part in acquiring sports equipment to for young children to use. In partnership with Wigan Athletic, JJB Sports and the GFA, Roberts provided football boots, shin guards, jerseys, shorts and other football equipment.
