Valencia tipped to score more goals

Bruce told the Wigan Evening Post: "Antonio has to add goals to his armoury - I think this was his first for more than 18 months so we'd like a few more from him.

"But he was a threat all afternoon. I thought arguably he was our best player especially as it's not easy to run with the ball on our pitch with it bouncing up around his knees.

"There was always going to be some added spice to the game with Paul coming back, and Derby aren't always going to lose. We had to make sure we weren't going to get beat by them, but only one team was going to win the game and that was us.

"It was just a matter of taking our chances. We stuck at it and the lads deserve a pat on the back for effort and endeavour."

Valencia joined on a permenant deal from Villarreal in the January transfer window and has played superbly during the stewardship of Steve Bruce. Should the wide man start to find the net regularly he will be considered among the top wingers in the league.
