Transfer News: Jewell to Move for Heskey?

Last updated : 30 May 2006 By Liam Cooper
It is thought that the Blues are keen to sell Heskey after agreeing a deal for Cardiff striker Cameron Jerome for £3.5million, paving the way for Heskey to leave St Andrews.

Any move for the former Liverpool striker will be met by stiff competition from Blackburn, mark Hughes hopes to link Heskey up with striker Craig Bellamy.

However, negotiations between Blackburn and Birmingham have broke down regarding the fee, and relations between the two clubs is still tainted after the Robbie Savage affair, meaning Latics hope to hijack the Heskey transfer.

However, it could be that Jewell might have to sacrifice Jason Roberts to entice Brum into a deal, and there are reports in Turkey suggesting that Besiktas are also set to make a renewed bid for Roberts, who has entered the final 12 months of his current deal.
