Transfer News: Huth bid Accepted / Murphy targetted

However before you get your hopes up, the next line read that "Robert Huth flatly refuses to talk to Wigan officials as he doesn't see it as a good career move." It's the German internationals loss, as he isn't getting a look in at Chelsea at the moment.

Danny Murphy: Possible Wigan target
The Mirror has also claimed that the Latics are winning the race to sign Newcastle United midfielder Nicky Butt. The former United ace spent the season on loan at relegated Birmingham City, and it is said that Wigan are fighting with Bolton for his signature.

In my opinion, this is one transfer i hope we lose out on. Ever since he left Manchester United, Butts' career has been on a downward spiral, and he is one player i wouldn't mind missing out on.

There has been another twist in the Pascal Chimbonda transfer saga. Tottenham are believed to want to tie up a deal for the right-back before the World Cup, and are willing to offer £3million plus a player, beleived to have been Wayne Routledge, who was on loan at Portsmouth.

Yet if reports are to be believed, Wigan are only willing to do a £3million plus player swap if the player is Danny Murphy.

Murphy signed for Tottenham from Charlton after a superb first half of the season. Although the fee was undisclosed, it is believed that Spurs paid £2million for the midfielder. Since his move he ha been severely limited to first team opportunities, making only ten appearances most being from the subs bench.

A deal with Murphy could be benefitial for both clubs. Tottenham would get their man and would have only paid £3million plus a £2million player, and Wigan are in desperate need for a playmaker after Jimmy Bullard and David Thompsons departures.
