Transfer News: Andy Johnson bid Rejected

Boltons bid was supposedly the largest, a record £8million was offered for the striker currently plying his trade in the Championship. In contrast, Wigan were beleived to have offered £6million plus a player, and then £7million.

In an interview, Palace chairman Simon Jordon stated: "We've had offers from a number of clubs ranging from £6million to £8million - people are obviously desiring to get Andrew but whether they succeed or not is another matter."

The outspoken chairman did confirm however that he would consider selling Johnson if it "was for the betterment of the club." He then joked that he valued him at £20million, and that he was probably the only one who thought that.

It is however believed that Boltons £8million was close to what Jordan considered a sufficient offer, it is not known as of yet whether Wigan will bid more than £8million who scored 21 goals in the Premiership two seasons ago.
