Svetoslav Todorov
The deal was the last Wigan Athletic deal fo the evening, with the transfer going through after eleven o'clock, just one hour before the deadline.

Todorov has a goal rate of a goal every other game and is certainly a different option to those of Camara and Heskey, giving the side a real variation in goal threat up front.

Latics boss Paul Jewell said: "I have always liked him. He's a pure striker, he lives to put the ball in the back of the net and will hopefully bring us that predatory instinct in front of goal which we have lacked at times in the past. Harry (Redknapp) speaks ever so highly about him as a player and a person and I am really excited about bringing a player of his nature into the club."

While Todorov himself added: "Everyone knows about Wigan now and how ambitious they are. All I want to do is play and the quality of the squad speaks for itself. Harry Redknapp said I will get on with Paul Jewell because he knows him well and I am looking forward to the challenge ahead."

Meanwhile Daivd Connolly has joined up with Graham Kavanagh and Roy Keane at Sunderland. The club have done well to receive a fair share of the £2 million shelled out on him twelve months ago. The fee is said to be £1.4 million rising by £500,000 depending upon appearances. Best of luck to both David and Graham.
