The former Newcaslte United and Ipswich Town defender has played an integral part in the Latics season so far.

Bramble has managed to continue the excellent form that saw him sweep the player of the year awards last season.

Speaking ahead of this weekends game with struggling Hull City, he told the club's official website: "Confidence is sky-high after the win we've got to make sure we go and beat Hull City this weekend.

"These are the teams we've got to make sure we beat because we want to stay as far away from them as possible, so three points against them will be a big step forward."

It was this time last season that the Latics managed a 5-0 win over the Tigers, a game in which Amr Zaki really announced himself to the Premiership.

One year on, and Bramble would be happy with a scrappy 1-0 win against Phil Brown's men.

"It was a great result there last year but to be honest I would be just as happy with a 1-0 win, let's not get greedy," added Bramble.
