Time to deliver says Hutch

After the defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford, the international break will have seemed even longer to the players who want to return to winning ways.

The visit of Portsmouth to the JJB will be anything but easy, although boss Hutchings expects the team to stand up and deliver.

He said: "It's now time for the players to deliver. We're probably only talking about a few extra percent of effort and concentration but we need to start winning hard, cold Premier League points again. It's all very well saying our performances have deserved better but in this league it's not what you deserve that counts, it's what you get.

"We've had a couple of disappointing defeats to swallow, but I'm happy we are now going to face a side as strong and competitive as Portsmouth.

"The players know they are going to have to be at their best to get the three points, but at the same time, they also know that if they play to their potential, they can win. We have fourteen full internationals in this squad, plus players of very real Premier League experience.

"They've all been in pressure situations before, they know that it's time to come out fighting and what is expected of them."
