The first to mention it... Roy Keane

Roy Keane
Not.

After twelve years at Old Trafford, Roy Keane has left Manchester United by mutual consent and is being linked with every other club in the country.

Although Keane would be a superb signing for the club, I just don't feel he is the type of player that Paul Jewell would be looking for at the moment.

Keane said in a statement: "It has been a great honour and privilege for me to play for Manchester United for over 12 years.

"During my time at the Club I have been fortunate to play alongside some of the best players in the game and in front of the best supporters in the world. At all times I have endeavoured to do my best for the management and the team.

"Whilst it is a sad day for me to leave such a great Club and Manager I believe that the time has now come for me to move on.

"After so many years, I will miss everyone at the Club. I send my best wishes for the future to the management, players, staff and supporters of the Club."

And while he may have contacts at Wigan including international team-mate and current Latics midfielder Graham Kavanagh, I just don't see him moving to the JJB.

Although I would love it if he did.

What do you think? Would Roy Keane add even more bite to the Latics midfield? Would his experience help the club maintain their lofty league position? Or is he too far past his best to offer the Latics anything? Would he even be interested in a move to the JJB?
