Wigan Athletic

Paul Jewell seems likely to stick with the side that lost at Gillingham. Jason Roberts and Nathan Ellington seem to have shook off knocks picked up before the Coventry City clash in midweek and the duo will be hopeful to kick on their awesome recent form.

Nicky Eaden has suffered no reaction to his injury after the Gillingham game. He was a doubt for that one with what seemed to be a dead leg and should be fine for Ipswich.

Alan Mahon has sat out the Latics' last two games with a knee injury. It is unlikely, but the Irishman may well recover in time to face Ipswich and many Latics fans will be hoping so after his screamer against Leeds in his last appearance.

Ipswich Town

The Tractor Boys will definately be without both captain Jason De Vos and recent loan signnig James Scowcroft. Both players are suspended after picking up yellow cards in the 2-0 defeat to Q.P.R. on Saturday.

Many fans at the JJB and a fair number at Portman Road believe that De Vos' booking could be all too convenient and he may have followed in David Beckham's footsteps, wanting to sit this one out.

Joe Royle was at the Wigan game with Leeds and may have informed his captain that Ellington and Roberts really are as quick as they appear on the television.

De Vos got the better of the duo at Portman Road but conspiracy theories suggest that he didn't fancy facing them on their home patch at the JJB.

The suspension of Scowcroft meanwhile means that the unwanted Pablo Counago or Dean Bowditch may play upfront with Darren Bent.

The game will most likely come to soon for the injured Kuqi, who has been influential alongside Bent.

Ipswich have picked up one point from nine in his absence. Let's hope that is one point from twelve come Saturday evening.
