In the match dubbed the £30million game (£60million when including sponsorship etc) West Brom were aiming to make an immediate return to the Prmiership after relegation last season.

In a close game, it was Derby County who returned to the promised land for the first time since 2002.

Derby captain Stephen Pearson scored the onyl goal which means Gary Teale, who wasn't in the Derby squad, will return to the JJB Stadium; if he stays at Derby.

His former team-mate Ellington, a 71st minute substitute, will be playing Champsionship football with West Brom as a result. That is if new manager Chris Hutchings attempts to sign the Duke.

Congratulations to Tealy, commiserations to Ellington.
