The 23 year old has joined on a free transfer after his contact expired with Partick Thistle and he is now hoping to follow in the footsteps of James McCarthy and James McArthur and have a big impact on the English league.

Speaking in the Wigan Observer, Taylor-Sinclair is quoted: "Coming down from the Scottish Premiership, you've got to set your benchmark at the impact made by James McArthur and James McCarthy.

"They came down here and adapted to the style of play, and hopefully I can follow in their footsteps and prove to everyone what I can do.

"I'm realistic in my aims, though. I know I'll have to work hard to adjust my game to adapt to the style of play down here in the Championship."

Taylor-Sinclair will have competition for a first team spot from fellow new left back addition Andrew Taylor from Cardiff City.

The duo's arrival would appear to signal the end of their Wigan Athletic career for Jean Beausejour and Stephen Crainey who are both out of contract.
